🕌 Lesson 24: World Religions Map

Religions are connected to places where they began, spread, and became part of daily life. Maps of religion show history, migration, trade, empires, and culture.

Christianity began in the Middle East and spread through Europe, Africa, the Americas, and many parts of the world. Today it has many branches, including Catholic, Protestant, and Orthodox traditions.

Islam began in Arabia and spread across the Middle East, North Africa, parts of Europe, Central Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and beyond. Indonesia has one of the world's largest Muslim populations.

Hinduism is strongly connected to India and South Asia. Buddhism began in India and spread across East Asia and Southeast Asia, influencing countries such as Thailand, Sri Lanka, Japan, China, Korea, and Vietnam.

Judaism has deep roots in the Middle East and a global diaspora. Sikhism began in Punjab, in South Asia. Many Indigenous religions are connected closely to land, ancestors, animals, seasons, and local places.

Learning religion on a map is not about judging beliefs. It is about understanding how people live, celebrate, build cities, choose holidays, and understand the world.
